The Record Co. Teams Up with BHCC to offer Intro to Music Technology Course

Get a glimpse into the future of making music with BHCC at The Record Co.

TRC is excited to announce a new partnership with Bunker Hill Community College to offer BHCC courses at the studio, starting with Intro to Music Technology. This course is open to TRC community members and current BHCC students.

Course: MUS-171: Intro to Music Technology

Course Description

Description: This course is an in-depth study of music technology. Students will be introduced to the basics of digital audio software along with procedures for manipulating sound, sequencing/editing, synthesis, and mixing. In addition, the properties of sound, basic recording technology, and music notation software will be touched on. This course is intended for music majors and non-majors; no prior experience is necessary.

Schedule: Tuesdays, 5-9 pm

How can I register for this course?Students already enrolled in a degree program, can register for this course in BHCCselfservice.

Students new to BHCC, can register for MUS-171: Intro to Music Technology as a Guest Student.

Do I need to be in the BHCC Music program to take the course?No, you do not need to be in the program.

When does the class start and end?This Tuesday evening class starts on September 3rd and ends on December 11th. See BHCC Academic Calendar.

How much does the class cost?The cost for a 3 credit class is $750 , see Tuition and Fees. However, most students, taking 6 credits or more a semester, qualify for free community college through MassEducate or MassReconnect.
