Cultural Space Boston: Preserving Our Creative Future
More Than Just Buildings: Why We Fight for Creative Space
When developers reshape Boston’s neighborhoods, they’re not just changing buildings – they’re messing with our city’s creative pulse. Here’s the real deal on why spaces like 55 Morrissey matter.
What Happened
2023: Sound Museum artists needed a new home. We stepped up with 90 rehearsal rooms at Morrissey. Now? 400+ bands and creators are making magic happen there.
The Real Impact
These rooms aren’t just empty boxes with doors:
- Small businesses are growing
- Jobs are being created
- Artists are taking risks
- New collaborations are forming
- Creative careers are launching
Why It Works
We partnered with the City of Boston, #ARTSTAYSHERE crew, and Mayor Wu’s team to lock down this space through 2027. Because when artists know their space is secure, they can focus on what matters: creating.
More Is More
Walk through our doors and you’ll find:
- Musicians crafting new sounds
- Fashion designers pushing boundaries
- Print shops making moves
- Hundreds of creators building something bigger together
